Where are my notes stored?
On your device, and in your own private iCloud account so they appear on your iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. They are never sent to a server of ours, because there isn't one.
Why is “Scan for Actions” greyed out?
That feature uses Apple Intelligence, which needs a supported device with Apple Intelligence turned on in Settings. On other devices the rest of the app works normally.
Why does it ask for Contacts, Calendar or Reminders?
Only when you tap a suggested action. Looking up a name you wrote, adding an event or saving a reminder each need the matching permission. Decline any of them and the rest still works.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up, no login and no subscription. See the privacy policy.
