Scam Tester privacy policy

What you check

Text you paste or type, screenshots and photos you pick or take, PDFs and links you share, and QR codes you scan are all read and scored on your iPhone. Text in images is read with Apple's on-device text recognition. On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, an extra review runs with Apple's on-device model. None of this content is sent to us, to the ad network, or to anyone else.

Recent checks

Your last 20 checks are saved on your iPhone so you can look back at them. They stay in the app's storage on your phone, are not backed up by us, and are removed by tapping Clear all or by deleting the app.

Ads

The free version shows a short video ad before each score, served by Google AdMob. Ads are non-personalized: the app does not ask to track you, and nothing about the message you checked is shared with Google. To serve and measure ads, Google's software collects some device and usage information, such as a device identifier, coarse location from your IP address, ad interactions and crash data. Google's use of that information is covered by Google's advertising policy.

Purchases

If you buy Remove ads, Apple handles the payment. We use RevenueCat to confirm the purchase and to restore it on your other devices. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user id and your purchase history from Apple, not your name or payment details. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

What we don't do

• No analytics or tracking of how you use the app.
• No logging of what you check.
• No selling or sharing of personal data.
• No accounts, so there is nothing for us to delete. Deleting the app removes everything it stored.

Children

Scam Tester is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
