Something not working, or a scam that slipped through? Email support@oakandlever.com. If a message scored wrong, a screenshot of it helps us fix the rules for everyone. Only send it if you're comfortable sharing it.
How do I check an email?
Mail has no Share button for a message. Open the email, tap the reply arrow, tap Print, then tap Share and choose Check with Scam Tester. Or take a screenshot and share that.
How do I check a text message?
Press and hold the message, tap Copy, then open Scam Tester and tap Paste. iOS will ask whether to allow pasting; tap Allow Paste.
Why does a video play before my score?
The video keeps Scam Tester free. If it can't load, for example when you're offline, the score shows anyway. Remove ads ($4.99, once) turns the videos off for good.
I bought Remove ads on another device.
Check any message. On the “Your score is ready” screen, tap Already bought it? Restore. Use the same Apple ID you bought it with.
Is my message sent anywhere?
No. Scam Tester checks everything on your iPhone. See the privacy policy.
A score looks wrong.
Scam Tester shows the warning signs it found, so you can judge them yourself. A low score doesn't promise a message is safe: if something feels off, contact the company using a phone number or website you already know, never one from the message.
